Caged Hystrix - Mortal Shell II Sidearm Guide

What is Caged Hystrix in Mortal Shell II?

Caged Hystrix is an unlockable piece of equipment whose name is independently exposed by the live Steam achievement set. The current launch map classifies Caged Hystrix as a sidearm.

The achievement evidence proves that the item exists and can be unlocked; it does not by itself prove damage values, scaling, move properties, upgrade costs, or a best-build ranking.

Where do you find Caged Hystrix?

Current launch-guide mapping places Caged Hystrix on a tablet near the exit of its dungeon route. Treat this as route guidance from the release build rather than an official API field.

If a patch changes the pickup, boss reward, gate, or dungeon layout, prefer the live game and the latest dated guide over an older route description.

Is Caged Hystrix a weapon or sidearm?

Current launch checklists classify Caged Hystrix as a sidearm. That classification is stronger than guessing from the name alone and is kept separate from the Steam achievement evidence.

Should you upgrade Caged Hystrix?

Test the sidearm in the current build before committing scarce upgrade resources. Compare the range, firing commitment, Resolve value, crowd-control utility, and situations where it covers a weakness in your main weapon. Those practical traits matter more than an undated tier label during launch balance changes.

See the weapons and sidearms overview, combat guide, and beginner guide before committing early materials.
