Mortal Shell II Devout Edition: Contents and Value

Compare the digital Devout and Standard editions, permanent Obsidian Shell skins, launch prices, historical bonuses, and upgrade options.

What does the Mortal Shell II Devout Edition include?

The digital Devout Edition permanently includes the Mortal Shell II base game and eight Obsidian skins, one for each core Shell. Up to 72 hours of advance access and the preorder Harbinger skins were launch-period offers, so they are historical benefits rather than current permanent Devout entitlements.

How does it compare with the standard edition?

Standard includes the same base-game access, while Devout adds eight permanent Obsidian Shell skins. Publisher MSRP checked August 22 was $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99 for Standard and $59.99 / €59.99 / £47.99 for Devout; current access timing is now identical because advance access ended.

Regional taxes and storefront pricing can differ from publisher MSRP or the Steam US prices, so check the exact region, currency, and store you will use before paying.

Is advance access still relevant after launch?

No. The up-to-72-hour advance-access window was useful only before the worldwide August 20 release. It has no remaining time value after launch and should not be counted when comparing what a new buyer permanently receives from Standard or Devout today.

The same distinction applies to preorder Harbinger skins: they describe a past order window, not the permanent post-launch Devout package. Store pages can retain historical copy, so compare the current items granted rather than treating every old bullet as active.

Is the Devout Edition worth the extra cost?

Devout is worth the extra cost only if eight Obsidian Shell cosmetics justify the current price gap for you. Both editions provide the full game, and the advance-access value has expired, so gameplay access is no longer a reason to pay more after launch.

Can you upgrade from the standard edition?

On the US PlayStation Store, Standard owners can buy the Mortal Shell II Devout Edition Upgrade for $10.99, checked August 22, 2026. Upgrade availability and price are storefront-specific, so ownership on one platform does not prove that the same path or terms apply elsewhere.

Steam lists the Devout edition at $59.99 versus $49.99 for Standard. This guide does not make a claim about a standalone Steam upgrade or its absence; use the live Steam product and add-on listings before buying.

Edition contents, release timing, and publisher prices were checked August 22, 2026 against Playstack and current storefront pages. Because advance access and preorder copy describe a completed sales window, this guide separates those historical offers from permanent digital entitlements.
